We recently became acquainted with the Writer’s Guild of Texas, an organization for both new and extablished writers and authors, and are pleased to announce that Zone Press will now be included in an information packet that will be given to all new members.
For those of you interested in writing and seeking to learn more about the craft as well as the book-publishing industry from other writers, this is your group. It’s a state-wide organization but is based in the Dallas area with monthly meetings held in nearby Richardson. There’s a reasonable membership fee to join and each meeting features a presentation by someone connected to the world of writing and publishing—maybe another veteran author, an established editor or perhaps a representative from the publishing side.
After checking out their website (www.writersguildoftexas.org) and talking with one of their administrators on the phone, it appears to be an organization that we’re excited to become, in a small way, associated with. As part of the new member’s packet, we’ll have a flyer showcasing some of our recent releases as well as information about Zone Press and how we can help writers get their work published.
So, if you’re a writer and are anxious to be around other creative writers looking to learn all they can about their craft and the publishing industry, we suggest you check them out.
